The practice has a culture of a ‘Learning organisation' and the concept of Lifelong learning is encouraged amongst all members of the team. The practice consists of two centres one mile apart in the North Coventry. Joint injections, cryotherapy and Child Health Surveillance are routine within the practice.
This practice is approved for teaching and training for both undergraduate and postgraduate personnel. The practice was approved as a training practice by the West Midlands Deanery in 1991 and we have had a succession of training since. All three partners have been ‘promoted' from training positions within the practice. The practice has also been approved to teach medical students from Warwick University.
Jubilee Crescent Health Centre has an audio visual system for remote recording of consultations, with ceiling mounted cameras for easy and instant use. The practice uses the EMIS LV computer system and there are work stations in every room. Although there is a concept of room sharing, there is a designated room for GP Registrar in training.
The partners of the practice are the main asset /resource for education and training, particularly as role models. The individual areas of interest and expertise of the partners makes this practice stand out from the rest. The GP's are always at hand both during and at the end of surgery to help, guide and train registrars. Regular tutorials are undertaken.
